Start a Chapter
Bring thoughtful, good-faith political conversation to your campus. Start by telling Bipartisan Disagreement about your school and your interest in organizing a chapter.
A practical starting point
1. Introduce yourself and your campus
Use the interest form, choose “Other school / Start a new chapter,” and include your school name. Tell us what draws you to BD and whether other students are interested.
2. Discuss the next steps
Connect with the national team about chapter expectations, campus requirements, and available guidance. Ask what support is available for your school before making commitments.
3. Gather a founding group
Invite students with different perspectives who are willing to listen and participate in good faith. Check your school’s requirements for student organizations and meeting spaces.
4. Prepare your first discussion
Choose a topic, identify a facilitator, and agree on shared expectations for respectful conversation. The discussion guide and example Code of Ethics provide a starting point.
